great Phillies and calzones
by Rick M on February 20th, 2009 on Troy's Steak Subs & Pizza |
| My friends and I have patronized Troy's for as long as they've been in business. These guys consistently make the best Philly cheese steak subs in the NRV. The calzones are huge and the pizzas are a very welcome change from the all-too-familiar chain restaurants. Give them a try. Your tongue and tummy will be glad you did! |
Beware!

Went to Magills with a high school tour group recently and had a MISERABLE experience. Not only was the food not very good and the prices pretty high, we were asked to leave before we finished eating. The management had overbooked the place and needed the seating so they kicked us out. I would recommend this restaurant to NO ONE! Bad food, crappy service, terrible management, and high prices. |

| The best food I've ever tasted, plus the waiters are very cute I really recommend it to everybody. The food is better than the indian, they are very polites and they are the best. Try it out. You won't regret it Even for picky eaters it is the best. |
Best Thai in the area
by flyboy on February 15th, 2009 on PA Nuang Thai Cuisine |

Wow, this place is some of the best Thai I've ever had! AND I'VE BEEN TO THAILAND. I've had Thai in Bangkok, Seattle, Maine, Maryland, Florida, Virginia, England.... this place ranks among the best. And trust me, I know bad Thai food as well as incredible Thai food. After waiting and waiting for the place to be built, we've finally been well rewarded. My family has eaten there three times so far, and it's been excellent every time. Every dish has been exceptional. Things we've had: Red Curry (very spicy if you get it as on the menu) Musaman Curry (my personal favorite, so good I'm convinced it has crack in it) Indian curry Pad Thai (also exceptional. My wife "craves" it.) Kid's dish of tempura-fried chicken and carrots--so good, even I nibble at it throughout the meal) Wonton Soup Spring Rolls (crisp and delicious but a bit standard) The menu is a bit larger than the normal Thai restaurant, but so far, as I said, everything has been stellar. The service seems to be by the owners (I'm guessing here since there always seem to be the same older man and woman serving and seating), and they are alway very nice. I can't wait to try more things! If you like Thai, you've got to try this place. Siam Bistro, just down the road, also has great food, but whereas their food is more of an A-, PA Nuang is an A+. My only complaint is that they took so long to open their doors! |
Excellent

This is probably the best kept secret in Alexandria. The food is fabulous and the bar is always fun on Friday nights with live entertainment. I would recomend this place to everyone. |
Why come to El Asador Restaurant
by Local eats on February 14th, 2009 on El Asador Restaurant |
| The other day I stopped by el asador to see what they sell. To my surprise they sold authentic mexican and salvadorean food. To my knowledge they were the first salvadorean restaurant in the area. If you want authentic food this is the place to go. The food is really cheap but really good!! |
